Update of old EPD with EF 3.0, shall the indicators package be changed?

for the update of old EPDs with EF 3.0,
If the validity period of EPDs remains the same, then they can still use EF3.0, but no problem to update indicators to EF 3.1

if the validity period of EPDs updated/to be prolonged, then they must/shall update to use EF3.1
