Which version of the GPI should I follow when developing an EPD?

Rules and guidelines for use of the GPI 5.0 and its transition periods can be found in the General programme instruction version 5.0, section 5.1 GENERAL PROGRAMME INSTRUCTIONS (GPI).

For rules on EPD development, content of EPDs, and LCA rules, the version of the GPI to follow shall be the one upon which the PCR is based. Rules in a later GPI version (e.g. GPI 5) can be followed if these rules do not conflict with rules in the applicable PCR(s) that is based on a earlier version (e.g. GPI 4).

Other rules, except those for PCR development that have an immediate effect, have a transition period of 90 days (until September 17, 2024).
